Personalising your profile

How to add a photo and your name to your ProperPlan profile

Updated over a week ago

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to personalise your profile within our system. Follow these instructions to ensure your profile is up to date, reflecting your professional identity!

Step 1: Accessing the Profile Settings

1. Locate Your Settings: On the bottom left of your screen, find and click on the grey profile box. This will take you to the settings menu. Alternatively, you can click on the settings cog, which will also direct you to the same place.

2. Select the Profile Tab: Once you’re in the settings menu, choose the first tab labelled “Profile”. This is where you can make all your personalisation adjustments.

Step 2: Adding or Changing Your Profile Image

1. Upload a Profile Image: In the Profile tab, you’ll have the option to add or change your profile image.

File Size Consideration: Please note that the image should not be too larger than 2MB.

2. Set the Image: After choosing your desired image, click on the green "Change Avatar" button to change your picture and select your new profile picture. Once selected, it will be updated on your profile.

3. Press Save.

Step 3: Updating Your Name and Nickname

1. Enter Your Name: In the Profile settings, input your first and last name.

2. Using a Nickname: If you prefer to use a nickname, it will override the first and last name fields. For instance, if you commonly go by a nickname e.g mine is “LauraP”, enter it in the nickname field, and it will appear instead of your full name.

3. Saving Changes: Once you have entered your preferred name or nickname, press the Save button. Your changes will immediately reflect in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Step 4: Adding Job Title and Pronouns

1. Input Your Job Title: In the same settings area, you can add your job title. This will be visible to other team members later in the roadmap.

2. Specify Your Pronouns: You can also specify your pronouns (e.g., she/her, he/him, they/them). While this feature may not be immediately visible on profiles, it has been added for future use and will help create a more inclusive workspace.

Final Steps

Verify Your Profile: After making all these changes, ensure everything looks correct. Your profile image, name/nickname, job title, and pronouns should now be updated and visible to your team.

Encourage Team Participation: It’s a good idea to encourage all team members and guests to personalise their profiles to foster a sense of community and professionalism within the platform.

Conclusion

Personalising your profile is a quick and straightforward process that enhances your presence within the system. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you ensure that your profile accurately reflects your professional identity and that your team can easily recognise and connect with you.
