What should be a task or subtask?
What should be a task or subtask?

In this guide we share the difference between a task or subtask and how you should determine what should be a task or subtask.

Updated over a week ago

Creating Tasks

Tasks should be focussed on one action.

See example below, 'Create tag' and 'Send weekly newsletter' involves one action to be taken.

If one task involves multiple steps to complete it, you need to setup sub-tasks under your overarching task.

Creating sub-tasks

See example below, the main task is 'Create email marketing account', the subtasks that come under this are tasks that need to be completed in order to complete the overarching task, 'Create email marketing account'.

Step 1 - Click the edit task icon on the task you would like to add subtasks to.

Step 2 - Now, click 'Add subtask' to add subtasks that need to be completed for eg, 'Add postal address', 'Authenticate sender email' and 'Create master list'.

Once you have closed the task tray and are on the plan dashboard, you will see a task with sub-tasks clearly labelled with a light orange icon positioned to the left of the task list.
